It’s like, totally official now!

My logo of good fortune!
Oh…my fiance has earned some major “Brownie Points”. Tonight, he made a logo for my new business…it makes me feel so official! Now, I can order business cards and when folks ask “well, what are you about?” I have something that gives them a little sampling of myself. In this day, with regards to business, you hear so much about “Branding” yourself and how people need to think of YOU when they think of hiring someone that does whatever it is that YOU do. Well, I have always had a penchant for all things Asian. A longtime connoisseur of Anime (back in THE day it was called “Japanimation”) and the history & culture is so ripe with rich color, vast landscapes, amazing & ancient architecture, a beautiful & poetic language…not to mention the electronics and gadgetry that come from the East (anyone who knows me, knows I also LOVE tech & gadgets). I have always felt compelled & consoled by the culture and that is why I have integrated so many aspects of it into my life. When I was asked to really think about myself as a photographer, what I do, what I offer and what makes me different from the next…the quickest thought that came to mind was “Good Fortune”. This has nothing to do with the American perspective on “fortune” as it has nothing to do with material wealth (not that I am opposed to it, I just don’t have it…yet) and everything to do with the good fortune of being able to take a really good picture. Being patient to capture those fleeting moments…being able to anticipate the arrival of those moments, fortunate to have an eye for seeing things differently and fortunate to have a most wonderful fiance and great friends that believe in me (mostly at times when I don’t believe in myself too) and support me and fortunate to be doing something that I love…I REALLY, REALLY love and fortunate to have arrived at a place in my life where I really feel like I belong…and of course, sometimes a little luck too! So, this is the birth of http://www.FortuitousPhotography.com….which is currently under construction. But, since I never want to stop learning…there’s always a part of me and my work that will always be “under construction” and always being thankful for all the things I am fortunate to have in my life.
art is never finished…only abandonded. You’re up an running! Hurray!!!
